Last year, our inaugural Idaho Island Festival was a remarkable success, attracting an estimated 10,000 attendees from across the Northwest and beyond. This free public event featured workshops on lei-making and ukulele playing, cultural tents with hands-on experiences, and live entertainment. The events culminated in a spectacular Polynesian show and evening concert that included fire-knife dancers. We are grateful to have brought together vendors and performers from Oregon, California, Washington, Utah, Las Vegas, and Hawaii, creating a vibrant mosaic of Polynesian culture.
Our mission not only involves teaching traditional Polynesian dance, language, and traditions to our children but also supporting our community through economic empowerment workshops and mentorship. To continue building on this mission, we are excited to announce the second annual Idaho Island Festival, set to take place on July 26, 2025 at Julius Kleiner Park in Meridian.
We believe that enriching our community with the vibrant traditions of Polynesian culture impacts our Idaho community’s cultural fabric positively. To achieve this, we are reaching out to you to help us make this vision a reality.
